A delicious doughnut style pastry traditionally deep fried, these are baked in the oven for a healthier finish.

  1. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  2. Add water, caster sugar and dried yeast to the kCook bowl
  3. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  4. Attach lid to kCook bowl
  5. Heat with filler cap removed - 2 min, 30°C, speed 5
  6. Then add egg, salt, vanilla extract and evaporated milk to the kCook bowl
  7. Mix with filler cap fitted - 2 min, speed 10
  8. Then add salted butter to the kCook bowl
  9. Mix with filler cap fitted - 1 min, speed 6
  10. Then add bread flour to the kCook bowl
  11. Mix with filler cap removed - 1 min, speed 7
  12. Grease a clean medium bowl
  13. Transfer content of kCook bowl to medium bowl
  14. Cover with plastic wrap
  15. Let rise overnight in fridge until doubled
  16. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  17. Knead on lightly-floured surface
  18. Roll out until 1/4" thick
  19. Cut into squares
  20. Prepare 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  21. Let rise - 45 min
  22. Brush with milk
  23. Bake until light golden - 15 min, 180°C
  24. Brush with unsalted butter
  25. Dust with icing sugar generously
  26. Serve
