While the pound cakes we make today often have different proportions from the original, they are still wonderfully rich, moist, and buttery with a lovely golden brown crust. This is a really simple cake recipe, give it a try.




  1. Pre-heat oven - 160°C
  2. Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
  3. Add caster sugar, butter, egg, all purpose flour, vanilla extract, baking powder and milk to the kCook bowl
  4. Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
  5. Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
  6. Mix with filler cap fitted - 2 min, speed 12
  7. Grease and flour a clean loaf pan evenly until coated
  8. Transfer content of kCook bowl to loaf pan
  9. Bake until skewer tests clean - 50 min, 160°C
  10. Let cool onto cooling rack
  11. Serve
