Vanilla Ice Cream

It is easy to make your own vanilla ice cream with the Frozen Dessert Maker attachment. Try adding chocolate chips or caramel sauce just before placing your ice cream in the freezer. Remember to place the bowl in the freezer 24 hours in advance.
Ingredients
- 300ml Whole Milk
- 325ml Whipping Cream
- 1 ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 3 Egg Yolks
- 150g Caster Sugar

- Saucepan - medium
- Jug
- Kenwood bowl - kenwood chef
- Frozen dessert maker attachment
- Airtight container
Method
- Place the freezer bowl in the freezer 24 hours in advance
- Add whole milk, whipping cream and vanilla extract to a clean saucepan
- Heat until just boiling - medium heat
- Strain mixture into jug and let cool
- Attach Whisk
- Add egg yolk and caster sugar to the Kenwood Bowl
- Mix with splashguard fitted until mixture comes together then scrape bowl - 2 min, Speed 4
- Mix with splashguard fitted until thick - 2 min, Speed 4
- Pour milk mixture into Kenwood Bowl carefully
- Mix with splashguard fitted - 3 min, Speed Min
- Pour mixture into saucepan
- Heat until thick - medium heat
- Chill in fridge until cold - 1 hr
- Attach the Frozen Dessert Maker to the machine
- Pour custard into Frozen Dessert Maker attachment
- Mix - 30 minutes, speed Min
- Transfer ice cream to airtight container and cover
- Chill overnight in freezer
- Serve
