Fried Pear Pie

Why not try making this delicious homemade spiced pear filling, encased in pastry and deep fried to crispy perfection. The pear pies are finished off with a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a unique and tasty dessert option.
Ingredients
- 6 Pears
- 100g Butter
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Egg
- 150g Light Brown Sugar
- 3 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 3 teaspoons Mixed Spice
- 1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 500g Puff Pastry
- 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 100g Caster Sugar
- Vegetable Oil as needed
Tools

- Rolling pin
- Cooking Chef XL
- Cooking chef xl bowl
- Lightly floured surface
- Small bowl
- Large saucepan
Method
- Attach the Stir Tool
- Add pear, butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, mixed spice, ground nutmeg, lemon, apple cider vinegar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 15 min, 100°C, Stir 2
- Let cool completely
- Place puff pastry on a clean lightly floured surface
- Roll out until 2mm thick
- Cut into rounds
- Place 1 Tbsp of pear filling along one side of the pastry, leaving a small gap around the edges
- Brush with egg
- Fold the pastry over, seal with a fork and set aside
- Add ground cinnamon and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
- Stir until combined
- Add vegetable oil to a clean large saucepan
- Heat until hot - high heat
- Working in batches, place the pear pies into the hot oil
- Fry until golden brown - 3 min
- Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
- Serve
