Why not try making this delicious homemade apple pie filling, encased in pastry and deep fried to crispy perfection. The apple pies are finished off with a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a unique and tasty dessert option.

  1. Attach the Stir Tool
  2. Add apple, butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, mixed spice, ground nutmeg, lemon, apple cider vinegar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Cook with splashguard fitted and let cool - 20 min, 100°C, Stir 2
  5. Place puff pastry on a clean lightly floured surface
  6. Roll out until 2mm thick
  7. Cut into rectangles
  8. Transfer filling to pastry
  9. Brush with egg
  10. Fold the pastry over and seal with a fork
  11. Repeat the same with the rest of pastry rectangles and apple filling and then set aside
  12. Add ground cinnamon and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
  13. Stir until combined then set aside
  14. Add oil to a clean large saucepan
  15. Heat - medium-high heat
  16. Working in batches, place the apple rectangles into the saucepan
  17. Fry until golden brown - 4 min, medium-high heat
  18. Place the apple pies on a serving plate
  19. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar
  20. Serve
