Fried Apple Pie

Why not try making this delicious homemade apple pie filling, encased in pastry and deep fried to crispy perfection. The apple pies are finished off with a dusting of cinnamon sugar for a unique and tasty dessert option.
Ingredients
- 6 Apples
- 100g Butter
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Egg
- 150g Light Brown Sugar
- 3 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 3 teaspoons Mixed Spice
- 1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 500g Puff Pastry
- 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 100g Caster Sugar
- Oil as needed
Tools
- Stove
- Rolling pin
- Cooking Chef XL
- Cooking chef xl bowl
- Lightly floured surface
- Small bowl
- Large saucepan
Method
- Attach the Stir Tool
- Add apple, butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, mixed spice, ground nutmeg, lemon, apple cider vinegar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
- Cook with splashguard fitted and let cool - 20 min, 100°C, Stir 2
- Place puff pastry on a clean lightly floured surface
- Roll out until 2mm thick
- Cut into rectangles
- Transfer filling to pastry
- Brush with egg
- Fold the pastry over and seal with a fork
- Repeat the same with the rest of pastry rectangles and apple filling and then set aside
- Add ground cinnamon and caster sugar to a clean small bowl
- Stir until combined then set aside
- Add oil to a clean large saucepan
- Heat - medium-high heat
- Working in batches, place the apple rectangles into the saucepan
- Fry until golden brown - 4 min, medium-high heat
- Place the apple pies on a serving plate
- Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar
- Serve
