Could you build new channels for an established brand?
The De’Longhi Group is seeking an entrepreneurial, creative and highly-motivated Business Development Manager to help us identify and develop new channels to market.
We’re looking for a truly new business-focused professional with the skill to assess opportunities and make well-qualified approaches to prospective channel partners.
This is a senior role which will require substantial proven experience and the hunger and tenacity of someone who thrives on winning new business. It’s an exciting opportunity that will offer a professional, self-starting individual the freedom to shape their own routine and activities in an entirely new UK role.
You’ll identify routes to market and build business cases to demonstrate their incremental opportunities to the group, implement business processes that align with existing business and deliver customer-specific activities that deliver category leadership across our portfolio.
Though you’ll be given some direction, you’ll have the space to identify your own leads and prospective channels, which will doubtless involve some lateral and creative thinking as well as a keen understanding of the macro- and micro-trends of our markets.
De’Longhi Group brands are established and highly credible, and it is crucial that your approach complements our existing commercial partnerships. As a De’Longhi Group ambassador you will represent our values and apply an appropriately sophisticated, brand-aware approach to your activities.
In order to identify strong opportunities for a broad portfolio of products you’ll need to immerse and familiarise yourself with our business and become a category expert. You’ll develop strong relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders including training teams whose job is to familiarise your channel partner employees with De’Longhi Group products.
Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- New Customer Acquisition
- Business Planning Management
- Customer Forecast Management
- Managing and monitoring net sales and profitability
- Monitoring retailer performance by volume, value and profitability
- Maintaining strong relationships with current and new customer contacts
- Achieving distribution for new lines & advising on appropriate product listings
- Maintaining accurate systems and internal communications
- Arranging product training courses for customers’ employees
- Controlling promotional budget spend
- Acting as a team player across the UK subsidiary
You’ll be an entrepreneurial new business professional with the conviction to try new approaches, an eye for gaps in the market and the influencing and team-working skills to bring internal and external contacts on the journey with you.
A creative problem-solver excited by the challenge of breaking new ground, you’ll have outstanding business acumen and the tenacity to win opportunities, with the ability to create compelling partnership pitches that open new channels. Your commercial and negotiating skills will be second to none.
Crucially, you’ll be a credible, sophisticated individual who can establish trust and represent a premium brand. Your role carries with it a high degree of accountability and you’ll take a structured approach to winning good business, informed by data, analysis and commercially-sound decision-making. This, and your strong planning skills, will allow you to understand which leads to prioritise and how to achieve a healthy mix of accounts.
You’ll have relevant industry experience and a proven track record in a new business environment (ideally FMCG), with a determination to deliver a customer-first ethos and level of care in your channels.
This is a home-based role with frequent travel to customer meetings and to our Havant HQ. You’ll therefore need a driver’s licence and ideally will live within 2 hours of Havant.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll receive an excellent benefits package and to a large extent will have the freedom to shape your own role, with earnings linked to your success. This is an excellent opportunity to forge new ground for an established group of premium brands.
Our culture and office environment is outstanding, with the kind of investment into learning and development that will allow you to excel in your role. Our benefits include:
