Kkwabaegi are twisted Korean doughnuts that are perfectly golden, covered in cinnamon sugar and served warm for breakfast or as a sweet treat!

  1. Attach the Dough Tool
  2. Add butter to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Heat with splashguard fitted until melted - 2 min, 60°C, Speed OFF
  5. Then add milk, caster sugar, salt, dried yeast and egg to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  6. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 2 min, Speed 2
  7. Let rest - 5 min
  8. Add all purpose flour to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  9. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed Min
  10. Cover with plastic wrap
  11. Let rest - 1 hr
  12. Attach the Dough Tool
  13. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed Min
  14. Cover with plastic wrap
  15. Let rest - 30 min
  16. Attach the Dough Tool
  17. Mix with splashguard fitted - 1 min, Speed Min
  18. Flour a clean baking tray then set aside
  19. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  20. Divide into pieces
  21. Roll into balls
  22. Cover with plastic wrap
  23. Take one ball
  24. Roll into a log
  25. Bring the ends together and twist it three times
  26. Transfer shaped dough to baking tray
  27. Repeat the same with the rest of the dough
  28. Let rest - 30 min
  29. Add caster sugar and ground cinnamon to a clean medium bowl
  30. Mix until combined
  31. Add vegetable oil to a clean frying pan
  32. Pre-heat in frying pan - 160°C
  33. Transfer doughnuts to frying pan
  34. Fry each side until golden brown - 5 min
  35. Dip doughnuts into sugar mixture
  36. Transfer doughnuts to serving plate
  37. Serve
