Wontons are a variety of thin-skinned dumplings with meat, seafood or vegetable filling enclosed in tender wheat dough wrappers. Originating from China, Wontons have also become popular in other East and Southeast Asian cuisines. These Crispy Fried Wontons are packed with juicy pork and prawn, inside crispy coating. These crispy bites are super addictive and taste delicious! You can make these ahead and fry it just before serving. Perfect as an appetizer or finger food to serve at your parties, dinners, or gatherings!

Step 1

  1. Attach the K-Beater
  2. Add ground pork, king prawn, green onion, water chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms, light soy sauce, water, cornflour, sesame oil, ground white pepper, granulated sugar and salt to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted until combined - 1 min, Speed 1

Step 2

  1. Place wonton wrappers on a clean work surface
  2. Spoon 1 tsp of filling into the centre of each wrapper
  3. Dip your finger into a bowl of water and moisten the edges of the wrapper
  4. Fold the wrapper in half and press down to seal
  5. Flip the dumpling over and dab a little water on the two outer points
  6. Bring them together and press down to seal

Step 3

  1. Add vegetable oil to a clean large saucepan until 1/3 full
  2. Heat - medium-high heat
  3. Transfer dumplings to large saucepan
  4. Fry, in batches, until golden brown - 4 min

Serve

  1. Serve with sweet chili sauce
