Creamy Potato Gratin
A creamy and decadent side dish. The perfect accompaniment to a Sunday roast.
Ingredients
- 900g potatoes - thinly sliced
- 1 large onion - thinly sliced
- 200ml milk
- 200ml double cream
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- ½ tsp grated nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 25g butter
Method
- Grease the ceramic dish of the slow cooker with the butter.
- Layer the dish with potatoes and onions, finishing with a layer of potato.
- Mix the remaining ingredient together and pour over the potatoes.
- Turn slow cooker on high and cook with the lid on for 1hr.
- Turn cooker on to the low setting and cook for 4-4 ½ hrs.
- The top may be browned under the grill if so desired.
Serving suggestion
- Serve as an accompaniment to roast or grilled meats.
