This simple crusty Italian white bread is perfect for dipping into soups or sauces. To make an Italian-style sandwich, fill it with salami, prosciutto or cheese and rocket leaves. Make the dough in advance and let rest overnight.




  1. Line a clean baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Attach K Beater
  3. Add water, all purpose flour and dried yeast to the Kenwood Bowl
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted until well combined - 2 min, Speed 2
  5. Transfer dough to medium bowl then set aside
  6. Let rest overnight
  7. Clean Kenwood Bowl
  8. Attach K Beater
  9. Transfer dough to Kenwood Bowl
  10. Add water, all purpose flour, olive oil, dried yeast and salt to the Kenwood Bowl
  11. Mix with splashguard fitted until mixture comes together - 10 min, Speed 1
  12. Remove the bowl from the machine
  13. Cover with kitchen towel
  14. Prove - 1 hr 30 min
  15. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface
  16. Cut into 2 equal pieces
  17. Fold the left and right edge into the centre of the dough
  18. Pull the top edge over and tuck under the dough
  19. Roll gently
  20. Transfer shaped dough to baking tray
  21. Cover the baking tray with a well-floured towel
  22. Let rest - 30 min
  23. Pre-heat oven - 220°C
  24. Retrieve the ciabatta
  25. Bake until golden brown - 40 min, 220°C
  26. Remove from oven onto cooling rack and let cool
  27. Serve
