Fun desserts that are great for a gathering. Make the pastry cases and crumble the day before to save some time.
Making the pastry
Fit the Knife Blade
Add flour, salt, butter and water into the appliance bowl
Select the Mix preset
Transfer the pastry onto a lightly floured work surface and knead lightly
Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Place the chilled dough on a lightly floured work surface and divide into six equal pieces
Roll out each piece to 5 mm thick
Line six tartlet tins (5 cm) with pastry and prick with a fork
Line the pastries with parchment paper and fill with baking beans
Bake for 10 minutes at 180°C
Remove the tins from the oven
Remove the baking beans and parchment paper
Brush the pastries with beaten egg
Bake until golden for 5 minutes at 180°C
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Making the crumble
Clean the appliance bowl and fit the Knife Blade
Add almonds, butter, flour, oats and sugar into the appliance bowl
Pulse until a crumble texture has formed, about 5-6 times.
Making the filling
Add apples and cinnamon into a clean bowl and mix until combined
Divide the mixture between the pastry cases and sprinkle the crumble on top
Bake until golden brown for 25 minutes at 180°C
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Serve.
Substitutions:
Brown sugar can be replaced with caster sugar
Ground cinnamon can be replaced with vanilla extract
