Pull Apart Cinnamon Round with Baked Pecan Camembert

Beautiful mini buns forming a circle around a round of baked camembert topped with brown sugar and cracked pecan nuts, to rip, dip and share.

Ingredients

Servings: 8
Makes: 1

125 g water, warm
130 ml milk, warm
500 g strong white bread flour
7 g instant dried yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1  egg


250 g Camembert, whole
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 Tbsp brown sugar
  pecan nuts, as needed, broken up


Instructions

STEP 1/5

Fit the Dough Tool 
Add the water, milk, bread flour, yeast, sugar, salt, cinnamon and egg into the Appliance bowl, fit the splashguard
Mix – 1 minutes, speed Min
Tip: Add a little water if the dough is still dry
Mix until the mixture comes together – 3 minutes, speed 1
Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface
Cover with a damp tea towel
Let rest – 1 hour

STEP 2/5

Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface
Cut the dough into 8-12 pieces, depending on how big you want your rolls
Roll each piece into a ball

STEP 3/5

Place the camembert in the middle of a large baking tray
Tip: Keep the camembert in its wooden wheel, unwrapped
Arrange the dough balls around the camembert, touching each other
Cover with a damp tea towel
Prove – 30 minutes
 

STEP 4/5

Preheat the oven to 190ºC
Place the butter in a small saucepan
Heat in a microwave until melted
Brush the dough balls with half of the melted butter
Season with salt to taste

STEP 5/5

Mix the remaining melted butter with brown sugar
Score the top of the camembert and spoon over the sugar mixture
Top with pecan nuts
Bake until golden brown – 15-20 minutes, 190ºC
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly
