Jam Tarts

A simple sweet treat but an old favourite, also a great way to use up extra pastry and any jams or curds you have leftover.

Ingredients

Servings: 12
Makes: 12

75 g butter, cubed, at room temperature
250 g plain flour
  salt, to taste
100 g caster sugar


1  egg, beaten
2  milk


100 g jam


Instructions

STEP 1/5

Fit the K beater to the machine

Grease the muffin tin

STEP 2/5

Add Ingredients 1 (butter, flour, salt, sugar) into the Mixer bowl

Attach the Mixer bowl to the machine and fit the splash guard

Mix on speed 2 for 2 minutes

STEP 3/5

Add Ingredients 2 (egg, milk) into the Mixer bowl

Mix on speed 2 for 1 minute

Place the pastry onto a worksurface and knead together

Wrap in plastic wrap

Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes

STEP 4/5

Pre heat the oven to 180ºC

Place the pastry onto a lightly floured worksurface

Roll out the pastry until 1 mm thick

Use a pastry cutter to cut out circles slightly bigger than the muffin pan holes

Place the pastry circles into the muffin tin holes and lightly press down to shape

Spoon Ingredients 3 (jam) into the muffin tin evenly

Bake for 15 minutes at 180ºC

Leave to cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes

STEP 5/5

Turn out onto a wire rack and let cool
