Carrot Halloumi and Dill Bites

Ingredients

3  carrot
250 g halloumi
5  plain flour
1  egg
10 g dill
2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. Ground Coriander
1 tsp. paprika
  salt, to taste
  pepper, to taste


  vegetable oil, as needed, optional


Instructions

STEP 1/4

Peel, trim and halve the carrots.

Cut the halloumi in half to fit the feed tube.

Lightly beat the eggs.

Destalk the dill.

STEP 2/4

Preheat the oven to 190ºC.

Grease the baking tray and line with parchment paper.

Assemble the food processor bowl onto the power unit.

Fit the Fine (2mm) grating disc, attach the lid and ensure it is locked into place.

STEP 3/4

Grate the first two items of Ingredients 1 (carrots, halloumi) into the food processor bowl using the pusher.

Remove the fine grating disc, fit the knife blade.

Add the remaining items of Ingredients 1 (flour, egg, dill, herbs, seasoning) into the food processor bowl using the pusher.

Attach the lid and ensure the pusher is in the feed tube. 

Pulse until combined.

STEP 4/4

To oven bake:

Form a tablespoonful of the mixture into balls.

Place the formed balls on the baking tray, space them out evenly.

Bake at 190ºC for 10-15 minutes until deep golden brown.

To fry:

Add 5 cm of vegetable oil to a medium frying pan.

Form a tablespoonful of the mixture into balls.

Carefully lower the balls into the hot oil.

Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes until deep, golden brown.

Remove the bites from the frying pan with a slotted spoon.

Transfer to a paper-lined plate to drain.
