Flaky Pastry
This recipe is just pastry but it is great for savoury pies or even sausage rolls
Vegan Puff Pastry

This recipe uses a non-dairy butter alternative to make puff pastry. Use it as the base for a savoury vegetable tart or a pie.
Ingredients
- 140g Water
- 200g Bread Flour
- 200g All Purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 100g Nondairy Butter
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 100g Nondairy Butter
Tools
- Plastic wrap
- Rolling pin
- kCook Multi
- Lightly floured surface
- Jug
- Kcook bowl
Method
- Fit midi blade to kCook bowl
- Add bread flour, all purpose flour and salt to the kCook bowl
- Fit kCook bowl to kCook Multi
- Attach lid to kCook bowl with filler cap fitted
- Mix with filler cap fitted - 20 sec, speed 9
- Then add nondairy butter to the pastry
- Blend with filler cap fitted and continue - approx 30 sec, speed 12
- Add water and lemon juice to a clean jug
- Blend and continue - 30 sec, speed 12
- Pour content of jug into pastry gradually while machine is running
- Transfer pastry to lightly floured surface
- Wrap with plastic wrap
- Chill in fridge - 30 min
- Roll out
- Spread with nondairy butter lightly
- Fold two thirds
- Fold into halves
- Chill in fridge - 30 min
- Repeat
