Pound Cake

While the pound cakes we make today often have different proportions from the original, they are still wonderfully rich, moist and buttery with a lovely golden brown crust. This is a really simple cake recipe, give it a try!

1 cake

225 g caster sugar

225 g unsalted butter, cubed, room temperature

275 g plain flour

3.5 tsp baking powder

4 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 Tbsp milk

Loaf tin (900g) 20 cm (8"), KZM35.000GY, KZM35.000RD, KZM35.000GR, K-Beater

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 160ºC.

Grease a tin and line with parchment paper.

Fit the splashguard, then fit the K-Beater.

Add sugar, butter, flour, baking powder, eggs, vanilla extract and milk into the appliance bowl.

Mix for 2 minutes on speed 4 until combined.

Tip: Start the speed on Min and gradually increase the speed.

Step 2

Transfer the batter into the tin.

Bake for 50 minutes at 160ºC until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool.
