My new Spiralizer FGP200WG does not spiralize properly. Why is this?

Please ensure the food item you are using fits into the feed tube; cut the end of the food to create a flat surface to attach to the end of the pusher. Uneven ends will make it difficult to secure to theend ofthe pusher causingpoor results.Ensurethatthediameter ofthe food is more than 5 cm so that it can be attached securely to the end of the pusher.Food items need to be fresh and firm. If they are too soft, they will rotate in the feed tube.Use firm pressure to push ingredients down evenly using the palm of your hand.

My vegetables are turning to mush and the results are not as I expected. What can I do?

You may be experiencing this for several reasons. Try the following:Check the vegetables are fresh and firm. Softer vegetables, or those about to turn, do not spiralize easily and may clog yourmachine.Ifthisis the case, switchoff your spiralizer andclean any residue from the blade cone before restarting with firm, fresh vegetables.Your vegetable pieces may be too small. For lovely long spirals you need large pieces of vegetables.The foodstuff used may not be ideal for spiralizing. For recommended food types to use see your instruction manual or our suggestions on our website. Vegetables should be firm and not too soft.If the food is not seated into the pusher correctly the food could &ldquo;spin&rdquo; rather than cut. Ensure the food is firmly attached to the pusher before starting.Do not switch the machine on until the foodstuff is attached to the pusher and seated above the blade ready to spiralizer. When the machine is switched on, apply firm, even pressure in a downwards motion.

The vegetable I am using will not hold still in the holder whilst spiralizing. What can I do?

Not all vegetables are perfect, and a wonky carrot can certainly make things harder when using any spiralizer.Because of the speed at which an electric spiralizer works we recommend cutting itat straight as possible, but tryto keep itlonginlength toensurethebestresults.

I am only getting tiny shreds of food with my spiralizer. What can I do?

Long spirals require longer vegetables and your vegetables may be too short. Use longer cuts of at least four inches to ensure the prettiest of results.Alternatively, your food type maynot besuitableforspiralizing. Checkyourinstructionmanualor ontheFAQs for thebest fruit and vegetable types to use.Frozen vegetables are not suitable for spiralizing.

There is too much waste left over with my Spiralizer – Why is this?

There is a small cone of food left over after spiralizing with all spiralizers, even manual ones, as the pusher needs to hold on to part of the food in order to process it.The Kenwood spiralizerleavesasmallcone shaped piece offoodat theend ofeachbatch processed&ndash; much smaller than most manual spiralizers. This is to avoid the blade coming into contact with the pusher.However it does not need to be wasted, and can be sliced and added to your dish. Or, as the ingredients are so healthy, it can be popped into the mouth for a quick snack!

Food is collecting at the bottom of the cutting blade and the Spiralizer is not cutting. Why is this?
