Which mobile app I should use? What's the difference between the Kenwood mobile applications?
Cooking Chef KCL96 is designed to work exclusively with the Kenwood & Me app. Older Cooking Chef models, such as Cooking Chef XL and Cooking Chef Gourmet, work only with the Kenwood World app.
How do I connect Cooking Chef to Wi-Fi and the app?
First, check you have downloaded the correct app - Kenwood & Me, and create an account. Regardless of if you have iOS or Android device the set up will be the same. Watch this film to see the connection process.

I can't find the Heat Shield in the box
Cooking Chef may well have been transported with the heat shield already in place. It is sat over the bowl tool outlet and the slow speed hub on the front of the machine. It's easily removed for cleaning and to access the attachment outlet. It isn't required for general baking tasks (unless you are using the splashguard - the two interlock to keep the splashguard in place). To protect your machine from damage, you can't use the cooking functions unless your heat shield is fitted.
