Swiss Barley Soup

A hearty soup full of vegetables and barley grain, leave out the smoked bacon for a vegetarian version.
Ingredients
- 70g Smoked Bacon
- 200g Carrot
- 200g Celeriac
- 2 Green Onions
- 140g Onion
- 10g Fresh Chives
- 10g Butter
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 250g Barley
- 1 L Vegetable Stock
- 1 tablespoon Whipping Cream
- Salt & Pepper as needed

Method
- Attach the Stir Tool and Stir Assist Clip
- Add butter and smoked bacon to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 7 min, 120°C, Stir 2
- Then add carrot, celeriac, green onion, garlic clove, onion and bay leaves to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 7 min, 120°C, Stir 2
- Then add barley to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 7 min, 110°C, Stir 2
- Then add vegetable stock to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 40 min, 104°C, Stir 2
- Then add whipping cream, fresh chives and salt & pepper to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
- Cook with splashguard fitted - 2 min, 90°C, Stir 1
- Serve
