Attachment compatibility: Will the Prospero attachments fit my Multi Tasker Stand Mixer?

If you already own attachments from the Prospero mixer range, you will be still be able to use many of these with your Multi Tasker. The exception is the food processor, which due to design improvements, has a new model for Multi Tasker.

Accepted Answer

All of the outlets will operate at the same time, and this is normal. For example, when using the high speed outlet the bowl tools will turn. Please ensure the bowl has been removed before switching your machine on when using the slow, medium or high speed outlets. It is important to note that only one attachment should be used at any one time on a Kenwood kitchen machine. Attempts to use more than one attachment could damage your machine.

My Chef tool has turned black

Accepted Answer

This is most likely due to a reaction to dishwasher detergent. Please note that the older non-stick coated attachments are unsuitable for dishwashing. It is possible to remove the black residue and restore the attachment to its original state. As the attachment has been exposed to detergents containing alkaline you need to neutralise it by soaking it in lemon juice or vinegar for 24 hours.

What is planetary action?

While most beaters in a mixer rotate in a circular motion the Kenwood bowl tools move in a 'planetary' way. This means that while the beater is revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction making sure all the mixture is picked up from around the side, bottom and centre of the bowl.

Your mixer is fitted with an electronic speed sensor control that is designed to maintain the speed under different load conditions, such as when kneading bread dough or when eggs are added to a cake mix. You may therefore hear some variation in speed during the operation as the mixer adjusts to the load and speed selected - this is normal.

If the food processor isn't working, ensure the lid is on securely and the handle of the food processor attachment has been pulled as far clockwise as possible. It may click into placeif itisnew.The handle of the food processor should beabovethe"W"in Kenwood.Check the blender outlet cover (fast speed outlet) is locked as far clockwise as possible - it may click into place if new. Wait a few seconds and turn on again. If the machine has been overloaded, reduce the quantity of ingredients in the bowl.

The mincer attachment should never be placed in a dishwasher, and doing so may damage the surface of the appliance.

My mixer moves around on the worktop, is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Heavy ingredients, particularly dough, will cause your stand mixer to move from side to side and certain kitchen surfaces will allow the mixer to walk slightly across the kitchen counter as a result. This is normal for heavy ingredients. Large professional dough mixers often have large steel stabilising stands surrounding the bowl, a bit like cement mixers, but obviously this is not possible with a domestic machine! Your stand mixer will be fine but it should never be left unattended during the mixing process. This will not be as noticeable with the heavier machines but care should still be taken.

My MultiOne Mixer has stopped working.  What can I do?

- Check the outlet covers are fitted correctly. - Check the mixer head is locked down correctly. - If the mixer head was lifted, turn the speed control to the OFF position. If your mixer stopped during operation, it may have been overloaded. - Remove half the mixture. - Wait for the mixer to cool down for 30 minutes, and retry. - Check the maximum quantities and ensure you are not mixing excessive amounts.
