What are the differences between a citrus press and a centrifugal juicer?

A Citrus Juicer is a device that squeezes the juice out of a citrus fruit, the fruit must be cut in half before being juiced and most of the pulp stays on the half fruit. A Centrifugal Juicer will juice harder and whole fruits by spinning them through a fine mesh. This results in pulp build up, usually in a storage device, and also a large amount of juice.

What’s the difference between a Blender and a Smoothie Maker?

The main difference between a smoothie maker and a blender is that each appliance was designed todo acertainjob. A blender will usually have multiple functions, It has a variable speed and also a pulse function as opposed to the smoothie and sport 2 go they both have just the 2 speeds plus pulse. A blender stands a lot taller than a smoothie maker and the base is always bigger because it holds a much bigger motor. Smoothie makers are usually quite compact and small and the cups are usually around 1-2 servings. Our Blend-x Pro has an impressive 1.6L jug compared to our smoothie makers which are around 500ml-600ml.

Is it advisable to chop seeds like (for instance flax, sesame, berries) with the Kenwood food processors, in particular, FPM810?

We preferibly suggest not grind seeds in either the food processor or blender. For instance, nuts can be chopped in the main bowl and mini bowl, if you want to get a finer grind use the blender. Herbs such as parsley can be chopped in the main bowl or mini bowl.

Is it possible to chop seeds like for instance flax, sesame, berries, dried fruits, nuts (and so on..) with the Kenwood Blend X-tract?

Our blenders SB055 and SMP060 are not specifically designed to chop seeds or dried berries but, of course, they can blend them as part of smoothie or drink, but we do not recomment to blend them dry. My blender is not blending properly. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

You may need to add a little more liquid to the mixture. If the ingredients are dry a food processor or chopper may be better suited to this purpose.

If my blender goblet leaks, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check whether the blender is leaking from the lid or the base of the goblet. Also check that the filler cap is in place, and that the lid is in place correctly. If it is leaking from the top, then it is likely it has been overfilled. If it is leaking from the bottom, make sure the base in screwed on tightly and that the rubber seal is in place. If this is missing or damaged, then the blender is not watertight. A replacement seal is needed.

Can I blend dried ingredients in my smoothie maker?

Your smoothie maker is not suitable for blending dried ingredients. If you carry out this sort of task on a regular basis, it may be worth considering the CH180 mini chopper, or for larger amounts, a food processor.

The sealing ring appears to be missing, what can I do?

The Sealing Ring should already be in place. To double check that the sealing ring is there you can unscrew the goblet base, the ring should be settled in the blade base. Remember to be careful of the sharp blades.

Most fruits and vegetables can be blended in a smoothie maker or blender, however some of the harder fruits, such as apples, may need to be cut up into smaller pieces before they will blend easily. It is also recommended that any dried fruits are soaked in water for a few hours before blending.

All liquids and hot ingredients should be allowed to cool to room temperature before placing in a blender. If you have a ThermoResistTM model of blender, for example the BL700, BL710, or BLM800WH, hot liquids up to 1.2L can be safely blended immediately.

The lowest speed setting on your blender should be used for thin and light mixtures such as milk for frothing, light batters, milkshakes and scrambled eggs. The higher speeds should be used for thicker mixtures such as soups, pates, breadcrumbs and mayonnaise. The pulse is useful for anything if a quick but short burst of power is needed. It is also ideal for ice crushing.
