- Cheese Mozzarella is the traditional choice because it melts well and has a mild flavour, but you can also try ricotta, cheddar, goat’s cheese, parmesan or your favourite dairy-free alternative.
- Meat or protein Try spicy sausage, shredded chicken, ground beef mince, bacon or tofu.
- Seafood For an extra flavour hit, add salty anchovy fillets to your pizza, or try some garlicy prawns and chopped red chilli.
- Vegetables add courgettes, peppers, aubergines, mushrooms, onions or olives, or for the more adventurous, cauliflower or butternut squash also work really well.
- Fresh greens Finish with a handful of basil leaves, spinach or rocket.
For best results, resist overloading the pizza with too many toppings as it can weigh down the base, leaving it soggy and undercooked.
