My toaster is blowing fuses

If your toaster is blowing a fuse, it may be worth checking for fried fruit from a tea cake or similar is caught between the cage and the element. The water content in the fruit content in the fruit can often be the cause of this problem.

If you can see something caught, unplug the toaster and ensure it cools down completely. Remove and empty the crumb tray. Then, tip the toaster upside-down and gently shake to remove the caught object. Refit the crumb tray and plug in the toaster, it should now be ready to use again.
