Your mixer is fitted with an electronic speed sensor control that is designed to maintain the speed under different load conditions, such as when kneading bread dough or when eggs are added to a cake mix. You may therefore hear some variation in speed during the operation as the mixer adjusts to the load and speed selected - this is normal.

Please be advised that this operation described is normal. Your Cooking Chef will go into standby mode if it has been connected for more than 30 minutes without being used, press the STAND-BY button once to reset it. In addition, if one of the high or slow speed outlet cover is used, or if the outlet cover isn't put beyond 30 minutes, your Cooking Chef Gourmet will go into standby mode.

The error code meanings are as follows: Please not these codes are for Cooking Chef models starting with "KM" - E:01 - The head of the machine is raised. Set Power to &lsquo;0' and lower the head. - E:02 &ndash; The Cooking Bowl is not fitted correctly. Set the power to zero and realign or refit the bowl. - E:03 - The heat shield is not fitted. Ensure it is secured correctly as the cooking function will not operate if this is not in place. - E:04 - Slow/High Speed Outlet cover not in place. Ensure all covers are fitted. - E:09 - The heat is too hot or a temperature sensor problem. Allow the machine to cool and check sensors are clear from debris. - E:10 &ndash; Overheat or Speed issue &ndash; check air vents are free from obstruction and clean. When clearing an error code always set the speed to &lsquo;0' and retry. In the unlikely event any other error codes appear please assistance from a service agent as these may indicate a faulty component. My K-Beater does not reach the sides of the bowl when mixing.

The K-Beater will not scrape the sides of the bowl down and should never touch the sides. Doing so could cause damage to both the bowl and the attachment. Either increase the speed slightly, or scrape the mixture down halfway through mixing with a spatula or similar tool. The creaming beater is an attachment with silicone paddles either side and works much like the K-Beater. If it was not included with your machine it can be purchased from Kenwood Spares for many of our stand mixers.

What is the maximum temperature of the warming function?

Rather than the temperature in degrees, the Kenwoood Chef Patissier XL has 9 warming levels to choose from. Think of it like a hob setting, turn it up for more heat and turn it down for less. It has been carefully designed to work well with common baking tasks such as melting, proving and sabayon, but it will not boil water.
