Included in your pack is the Maccheroni Rigati die.Each screen is bronze and is supplied with a storage case. The screens have a rough surface allowing the pasta to collect more sauce which creates a fuller flavour. Available dies:-001 Maccheroni Rigati - the cylindrical shape and the grooves are perfect for strong sauces based on meat.002 Bigoli &ndash; for pasta in the form of a long and thick tube.003 Casarecce - a narrow, twisted rolled tube &ndash; often used with pesto or meat sauces.004 Maccheroni &ndash; smooth Macaroni, usually cut into short tubes. A creaming beater is deigned for cake making. It scrapes the mixture from the sides of the bowl and thoroughly incorporates all of the ingredients. Sadly it negates to need to lick the bowl afterwards! The Chef version can be ordered using part number AT501, and the Major version can be ordered using part number AT502, and are available from our website by clicking here.

Can I purchase the AT445 potato peeler for my Major?

Unfortunately the AT445 Major Potato Peeler has now been discontinued. It will not be coming back into stock.The AT444 Potato Peeler will only fit the Kenwood Chef machine with the 4.6L bowl and this will continue to be available. This model will not, however, fit the Chef Sense launched in September 2014.

Debris has collected in the base of my glass bowl. How can this be removed?

Accepted Answer

Place the base of the glass bowl into a bowl of warm water. This will allow the water to flush out any debris that may have collected.The bowl has been designed with slots in the base to enable water to flush through.

Does the pasta dough need to be a specific consistency for use with my AT936 Pasta Maker?

The pasta mix should resemble coarse breadcrumbs or a coarse crumb texture. The particles should be separate but if squeezed together it should form a clump which bonds together.Don't make the mix too dry as it could damage or break your pasta maker or mixer.

How do I assemble my AT340 Slicer Grater?

Remove the high speed outlet cover Fit the gearbox assembly onto the mixer Push the desired cutting plate onto the shaft. Each plate is numbered for identification and the number should be uppermost when the plate is pushed onto the shaft. Fit the sweeper onto the shaft with the flat surface of the sweeper against the plate. For best results when using the slicing/chipping plates, the sweeper arm should be positioned opposite the blade, as shown below. Attach the lid assembly to the body, Line up the symbol on the lid with on the body. Then turn the symbol to lock into place.- Fit the assembled attachment onto the gearbox and turn to lock into position.- If required fit the extension chute into the food outlet and push firmly into place. The extension chute MUST be fitted when the attachment is used with mixer KM070 but can also be used with all other mixers to direct the food into the collecting bowl. Connect the mixer to the power supply and place a bowl under the food outlet.- Choose which feed tube you want to use. The pusher contains a smaller feed tube for processing individual items or thin ingredients. To use the small feed tube - first put the larger pusher inside the feed tube- To use the larger feed tube - use both pushers together.- Put the food inside the feed tube. Switch the mixer onto speed 3 and at the same time push down evenly with the pusher – never put your fingers in the feed tube. At the completion of the processing operation, raising and lowering the pusher several times may help to reduce the amount of food left on the cutting plate.- Switch off and unplug.

I am having difficulty attaching my pasta maker. Can you help?

In order to attach your pasta attachment:- Switch off and unplug your Chef or Major and remove the slow speed cover.- Line up the body of the pasta maker with the slot inside the slow speed coupling on your Chef and insert.- Open the slow speed outlet catch and push the attachment further into the outlet. Release the catch.Your slow speed attachment is now ready for use.For further assistance please see our short tutorial video.

I have purchased a new blender for my Chef or Major and it will not fit. What can I do?

The base on our current blender is spring loaded and requires a slightly different action to secure it to the Chef.These blenders will fit all Chef and Major models manufactured after 1976, including the A901, but not the A701 or A707.In order to fit the blender, please carry out the following:- With the handle facing away from you and pushing slightly in a downward direction, turn the handle until you feel the biting point.- Push the blender fully down on to the Chef/ Major.- Turn the handle clockwise as far as it will go to fully secure the blender.Your blender is now ready for use.

What can I use the grain mill for?

You can use the grain mill to mill a range of cereals including wheat, rye, buckwheat, husked barley, millet and rice.Oats can also be ground but a coarse setting should be selected.All the cereals must be dry otherwise the mill will clog.

(Some models may vary). The extra-coarse disc grates cheese and carrot coarsley.The rasping disc grates parmesan cheese and potato for German potato dumplings, known as r&ouml;sti.The thin chipper cuts potatoes for super-thin French fries, ingredients for salads, garnishes, casseroles and stir fries.The standard chipper cuts potatoes for thin French fries and ingredients for casseroles and dips.

All liquids and hot ingredients should be allowed to cool to room temperature before placing in a blender. However if you are using our AT358 or KAH358GL blender attachment made from ThermoResist&trade; glass, you can blend up to 1.2L of hot ingredients immediately.

The model number of your Chef can be found on the underside of the unit. Chef or Major models from 1976 onwards (models beginning with A9 or KM) can use the current range of attachments, with the exception of the food processor attachment (Titanium models only). More information on the attachments available can be found by clicking this link.If the Chef is an A701 or A707, the current attachments will not fit your Chef. If your model is the Chef Sense or Chef Sense XL, launched in September 2014, these models have their own Colander and Frozen Dessert Makers, and an adapter is required to use older attachments, which is included in the box. Attachments can be purchased from Kenwood directly on our website, and also from other good retailers.

This attachment will not fit other models of kitchen machine, such as the kMix. There is currently no potato peeler attachment available for the Chef Sense or Chef Sense XL.

Will the food processor attachment fit my Chef?

The AT640 or AT647 Food Processor attachment will only fit the Titanium models, as these have an additional medium speed attachment point. Models include the KM001, KM002, KM010, KM020, KM030, KMC030, KMC015, KM023, KMC023, KM013, KMC013, KMC010 and KMM020.If your model is not one of the Titanium range, it may be worth considering the AT340 Pro Slicer/ Grater attachment, which has seven discs included, for slicing, grating and julienne effects. The AT337, AT358, AT339 blender and AT320 mill jar set will carry out chopping functions and the AT950 mincer will mince meat and vegetables. These attachments, with the exception of the AT950, fit onto the high speed power outlet.The AT950 uses the slow speed power outlet. The new KAH647 fits on the high speed attachment and this will fit all Chef models produced since 1976. This can be purchased by clicking here. (Stock permitting)

Your older slow speed attachments will fit your new Chef Sense when used with an adapter, which is included in the pack when you purchase the machine. The high speed attachments, for example the blender, will fit as normal.However you will be unable to use the food processor. A new food processor can be purchased by ordering part number KAH647PL. The Frozen Dessert Maker, Potato Peeler and Sieve attachments will not fit. The KAB956PL (Chef Sense Frozen Dessert Maker), KAB957PL (Chef Sense XL Frozen Dessert Maker), KAB992PL (Chef Sense Pur&eacute;e and Sieve), and KAB930PL (Chef Sense XL Pur&eacute;e and Sieve) can be purchased from our website.
