  • Can I purchase a creaming beater for my kMix Kitchen Machine?

A creaming beater is designed for cake making. It scrapes the mixture from the sides of the bowl and thoroughly incorporates all of the ingredients. Sadly it negates to need to lick the bowl afterwards!

The kMix version can be ordered by clicking this link.

Spares and accessories for Kenwood products, including many of our older products, are available from Kenwood Spares via their website at http://www.4kenwood.co.uk/. Alternatively they can be contacted by calling 0844 557 3653.

In either case please have your model number ready when ordering, which is embossed on the underside of the power unit.

More information on the kind of results you can obtain with the creaming beater can be seen in our short tutorial video.

  • Will Chef attachments fit my kMix Kitchen Machine?

No. There are specific attachments available for the KMix kitchen machine, which use a different fitting. These attachments are prefixed with a model number beginning with ‘AX’.

  • I have an additional beater with my kMix Kitchen Machine – what is it?

The beater with the rubber coating is a Creaming Beater and works in a similar manner to the K-Beater, but it scrapes the side of the bowl whilst mixing. It is perfect for softer cake mixtures and ensures the ingredients are incorporated to perfection. It is a popular addition to the kMix Stand Mixer.

  • My kMix Kitchen Machine will not start. What can I do?

Our kitchen machines are equipped with a slow-start motor and there is a delay before the motor starts. This is normal and minimises spillages and is beneficial for all recipes. It also prevents accidental processing.

If the head lift has been lifted, or an overload occurs, the machine will cut out. At this point it is necessary to reset the machine before reuse. In order to do this, lower the head if raised, turn the speed dial to zero and allow several seconds before restarting the machine. It is advisable to gradually then increase the speed.

  • There is variation in the speed of the machine. Is this normal?

Your mixer is fitted with an electronic speed sensor control that is designed to maintain the speed under different load conditions, such as when kneading bread dough or when eggs are added to a cake mix. You may therefore hear some variation in speed during the operation as the mixer adjusts to the load and speed selected - this is normal.

  • What types of attachment can I purchase for my kMix Kitchen Machine?

The kMix Kitchen Machine has a slow speed outlet only, which is at the front of the mixer.

Simply remove the cover at the front and you can add the following:

AX950 Multi Food Grinder - Mincer with 2 x sausage making adapters, kebbe maker and three screens (coarse, medium and fine)

AX642 Roto Food Cutter and Fruit Press - Two-in-One attachment for slicing and grating vegetables, cheese, etc and juice/ purée fruit

  • What is the best machine for making bread dough and cakes?

Without question the best machine for making cakes and bread is a stand mixer such as the Kenwood Chef or Major or the kMix stand mixer.

For more information on the features of each machine please see our website.

We also have a range of videos on our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/KenwoodLimited

  • What is the difference between a food processor and a kitchen machine?

A kitchen machine is primarily for mixing dough and cake mixtures. A food processor can do these jobs but not with the efficiency of a kitchen machine. If you are planning on making cakes you should consider how many you will make. If it is going to be a frequent requirement then a kitchen machine would be a better choice.

A food processor is perfect for processing foods at high speed, for example slicing or grating ingredients. It often includes accessories such as a whisk for meringues and other useful tools. If you do not bake very often this may be better suited to your needs. It is also worth taking note of the fact that many food processors are smaller in size and lighter than a kitchen machine. This may be a deciding factor if you have limited space in your kitchen.

The Titanium range of Chef and Major and Cooking Chef mixers offer the best of both worlds and include a food processor attachment. Please see our website for further product information.
