Step 1

Fit the K-Beater.
Add caster sugar, 100 g icing sugar, ground almonds and water into the Appliance bowl, fit the splashguard.
Mix for 1 minute, speed 2.
Then add egg yolk.
Mix for 2 minutes, speed 1.

Step 2

Dust a work surface with remaining icing sugar.
Transfer the marzipan mixture onto the work surface and knead into a ball.
Wrap the marzipan ball in plastic wrap.
Chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
