  1. Place the oil and chillies in a small frying pan and saute over a medium heat for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Set aside to cool. Add to the bread pan with the liquids.
  2. Add the ingredients to the bread pan in the order listed in the above recipe.

Reduce the quantities of chillies for a milder flavour replacing with chopped spring onions if preferred. Use hot chillies such as scotch bonnet for a fiery taste.

tsp = 5ml teaspoon
tbsp = 15ml tablespoon

  1. Recipe rating: 4 of 5 Very Tasty

    This turned out really well. I used 2x red chillies for a 500g loaf and it wasn't overpowering at all. I only gave four stars for this loaf as we couldn't taste the cheddar - I used strong cheddar. I am going to experiment with this one and try a stronger cheese - maybe stilton or similar.

  2. Recipe rating: 5 of 5 Lovely bread and easy to make

    This recipe comes out perfect every time I make it. Instead of using chillies, I sometimes use an onion fried till golden and it makes gorgeous cheese and onion bread - use a fairly large onion.
