1/3 cup kosher salt

  • 7 lime wedges
  • 1 cup Tequila
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup lime juice 
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar
  • 4 cups Ice
  • 6 bottles Mexican-style beer 

Serves:  6  (6 cups)

  1. Pour the salt into a shallow bowl. Moisten the rim of each glass with one of the lime wedges.  Twist the glass upside down in the salt until the rim is covered. Repeat with each glass.
  2. Combine the tequila, orange juice, lime juice, agave, and ice in the blender and process on high speed until the ice is finely crushed.
  3. Divide the margarita mixture among each of 6 tall glasses. Open the bottles of beer and place a bottle upside down in each glass. Garnish with the remaining lime wedges and serve at once.    
  • Note: Agave can be found in supermarkets in the same aisle as sugar.  Unlike sugar, it dissolves easily in cold drinks.
