Recipe for Kenwood by Claire Turnbull

Ingredients

  • 2 large Agria potatoes, peeled and cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 2 cups of frozen peas
  • 150g of fresh salmon, skin and bones removed

Method

For Approx 6 Month Old (Smooth)

  1. Place potatoes into a steam basket in a saucepan over water and steam until soft
  2. Add the peas to the steamer and steam along with the potatoes for a further 5-10minutes or until peas are cooked through
  3. Place cooked potatoes and peas into the Kenwood beaker that comes with the Triblade
  4. Put ½ cup of water into a non-stick frying pan and add the salmon, cook with a lid on over a low heat to effectively ‘steam’ the salmon without allowing it to brown at all on either side. This will take 5-10 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon (alternatively you can wrap in foil and bake in a medium oven until cooked through).
  5. Add the cooked salmon to the peas and potatoes and blend together with the Kenwood Triblade metal stick until smooth. Add water/milk/formula as required to make the desired consistency

For Approx 8 Month+ Old (Lumpier)

  1. Place potatoes into a steam basket in a saucepan over water and steam until soft, place into a large bowl and mash with the mashing attachment on the Kenwood Triblade.
  2. Meanwhile, steam the peas for 5-10 minutes until cooked through, remove from the steamer and put into the beaker that comes with the Triblade, set aside.
  3. Cook the salmon as in the above recipe and then add that to the peas and blend together roughly or get the texture desired. Add the potato to the peas/salmon and milk, and mash together using the mash attachment again adding water/milk/formula as required to make the desired consistency.

Tip: This will freeze well in an ice-cube tray so you can get a few cubes out at a time as required.
