This recipe is a shortcut to having fresh, homemade pasta on your table in under 30 minutes, minus the resting and rolling that comes with traditional pasta making. Inspired by pasta en brodo from Italy, this broth is flavoured with smoked bacon and has plenty of veg to keep it healthy and delicious. Serve with a grating of parmesan for an extra burst of flavour.

  1. Attach the Dough Tool
  2. Add all purpose flour, egg, vegetable oil, salt and water to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  3. Lift the Cooking Chef head and fit the heat shield
  4. Mix with splashguard fitted until elastic - 3 min, Speed 1
  5. Transfer dough to work surface
  6. Wrap with plastic wrap then set aside
  7. Clean Cooking Chef bowl
  8. Attach the Stir Tool
  9. Add olive oil to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  10. Heat with splashguard fitted until hot - 1 min, 120°C, Speed OFF
  11. Then add smoked bacon, carrot, celery stalk and onion to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  12. Cook with splashguard fitted until browned - 3 min, 120°C, Stir 2
  13. Then add chicken stock to the Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  14. Cook with splashguard fitted until reduced - 3 min, 120°C, Stir 3
  15. Unwrap the dough
  16. Place dough on lightly floured surface
  17. Knead - 1 min
  18. Divide into pieces
  19. Roll into balls
  20. Flatten each ball with your thumb
  21. Pull the dough towards you
  22. Shape by rolling the dough between your thumb and table
  23. Repeat the same with all the dough pieces
  24. Transfer pasta to Cooking Chef XL Bowl
  25. Cook with splashguard fitted until cooked through - 4 min, 110°C, Stir 3
  26. Season to taste
  27. Serve
