For the burger

  • 675g (1/2 lb) beef chuck steak, cut into long thin strips
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • Juice and grated rind 1 lemon
  • Salt and Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Flour for dusting
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

To make the burger

  1. Attach the Food Grinder to the slow speed outlet of your Kenwood kitchen machine. 
  2. Fit the coarse screen and mince the beef into the Kenwood bowl. For a finer texture pass through the screen again.
  3. Add oregano, thyme, lemon into the bowl with the mince. 
  4. Using the k beater, mix the ingredients together on low speed. Season with salt and pepper. 
  5. Divide into 4 evenly sized patties. Lightly sprinkle with flour.  
  6. Add  a small amount of oil to a frypan over medium heat. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked to desired temperature. 

Serve the beef burger in bread buns with the blended tomato sauce. Add any extra toppings like salad, fresh tomatoes or cheese to complete the dish.
