Low Fat Creamy Hummus

  • 1 x 400g can chickpeas, drained
  • 2 tablespoons low fat plain yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon unhulled tahini
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 garlic clove
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper


  1. Place all ingredients into the blending jug. 
  2. Pulse until smooth. This may take 6-8 times. 
  3. HINT: if the hummus is too thick add 1 tablespoon of water. 


  • Chickpeas: High in fibre and protein. 
  • Replace the oil for low fat plain yoghurt which makes it high in calcium for bone strength and low in fat. 
  • A great healthy snack for those on the go.
