My Chef is 47 years old!
I have just purchased a Kenwood Smoothie Maker and look forward to using it for several years. If it lasts as long as my Kenwood Chef it will go on long beyond me! My Chef is 47 years old, still going strong although a touch wobbly when mixing fruit cakes. I still have the original pyrex bowl but tend to use the plastic bowl for heavy work. I also have several attachments such as the mincer, liquidizer, bean slicer, shredder and grater and coffee mill, so you will understand that this is a well used machine, not an ornament! My daughter is of the opinion that the Chef I gave her about two or three years ago will not last as long as mine - I hope she is wrong!
My Chef is also well travelled having moved with me to Sweden in the 60's, back to England in the 70's, Spain in the 80's and back to England in the 90's.
It is really the best food mixer on the market - my food processor just cannot compete with the Chef and spends its life in a cupboard!

Dear Kenwood
I have just had to buy a new Kenwood Chef, I was upset to part with my first one it has given me very very good service. It has worked hard for me doing birthday parties christmases new years weddings family cooking all for the last 35 years. It has been a brilliant friend in my kitchen. Never a problem I think it as just worn itself out. That is why with out a second thought I have been out today to get a new one. ready to start my christmas cooking. I can recommend a Kenwood Chef to any one they are Great Working Machines Easy To Use and Clean. Sorry I can not say any thing about your after sale service because in 35 years I never had to use it.

Chef since the 1970's
Hello Kenwood.
Just thought I would write and tell you about my Kenwood Chef machine. We must have bought it in the family in the 1970s as I remember my dad making bread in it when the bread strikes were on. Well I am still using it. I do have a modern food processor but use that for fiddly little things. When I am making cakes and things I always turn to my Chef. It makes lovely light sponges and my friends always say how nice my cakes are, down to the Chef I think.
I am going to upgrade to a Major I think as I need the extra space. Ah I am a Cub Scout Leader and when I am making cakes and cookies for camp the Chef struggles a bit with the quantity. And it definatly does when we do twists. Twist dough is a bag of flour, couple of eggs, milk and sugar. It's a bit too much for my chef.
I only hope when I get the major it does such sterling service for 35+ years and still going strong. In fact if I didn't need the extra capacity of the Major I wouldn't be changing my Chef.
Thanks
Sue

1974 Chef....
My mother bought her kenwood chef in 1974 and it has been used every week since then to make the whole family's bread and cakes plus all the Christmas baking for several other family members and it is still going strong. She still has the original cover and the pyrex bowl that came with it. It is the best electrical item she has ever bought.
Thank you. |

19 year old Kenwood Chef!
My Kenwood Chef just gave up the ghost after 19 years of constant use. My mum taught me to cook in the 60s with hers, and I still have her recipe book, sellotaped together, as mine was missing when I bought it. I have many happy memories of making the Victoria sandwich with her from the book when I was 7 years old. I’ve just scanned your website for up-to date information on current models, as it’s an appliance I can’t do without, and ordered a KM001. I hope it lasts as long as its predecessor!

1970 Hand Mixer....
In 1970 my mother-in-law gave me a Kenwood Hand mixer she had won in a competition. This mixer travelled with me to Australia in 1972 and since then has been the longest serving appliance in my kitchen. It has been used to make thousands of pancakes and pikelets over the years, whipped many, many litres of cream and in good Aussie tradition, it has never failed to make the perfect pavlova.
Every time I use it I implore it not to give up, to keep on going because the alternatives are not nearly as simple, convenient and foolproof. I have purchased a number of mixers and blenders since the '70's but always end up going back to my faithful Kenwood!
Many thanks to Kenwood for a fabulous product, which in my estimation has not been surpassed with all the latest technology in 36 years. I hope to be handing it down to one of my daughters but not for a long time yet!!

Speed of Delivery....
Dear Sirs,
Having recently been given a Kenwood Chef A 901/P, I had occasion to order a liquidiser together with a K beater. May I say how pleased I was with the speed of delivery, in line with your declared policy of 24 hours.
Many thanks

Hello
I'm just writing to tell you about my Kenwood Chef.
My mother gave me the above a few years ago. It belonged to her and it's nearly as old as I am - 30 something!!! It's still going strong and makes my life a lot easier when I bulk bake cakes, cookies etc.
I think it's a credit to your company you've made something that has endured this long with continual use and benefit, thank you very much. |

Kenwood CHef Early 1960's
Hi My name is Norma Kitts.
I bought a Kenwood Chef in the early 1960's.
I thought the following may be of interest to you:-
My Kenwood has been used for making our bread twice every week and all of our cakes for over 40 years. I have just baked two batches of delicious bread this morning - this prompted me to write.
I still use the original glass bowl (made in the U.S.A.), I also have the original plastic white cover and the original instruction & recipe book.
I dread the day it dies on me, it will be like losing a friend.
Regards
Norma Kitts. |

Kenwood Mixer....
We have had a Kenwood mixer for some years, with attachments: mincer, liquidiser, coffee grinder and cannot fault any of it. Have purchased a bread maker two days ago and already made some excellent loaves. We didn’t realise we could get into your website for more recipes until we purchased the bread maker and are delighted to find so much on offer. Thank you.

Richard & Judy....
Having heard on Channel 4 the television show "Richard and Judy" of the lady who still has one of your machines, I received my Kenwood December 1960, and use it regularly still, never had to replace any part! One of the best attachments has been the potato peeler! The rubber 'lid' however looks a bit perished, (like me!!), I also have the liquidiser, graters and other attachments so congratulations to the Kenwood Company for having produced such a useful, durable product. Long may it and you keep going!!

Chefette A340 since 1969!
Hello there, thought that you might like to know that I am still using my chefette - model A 340 - that I bought in 1969!! The blender attachment fell by the wayside many years ago and I never did have the stand and bowl (an unmade purchase I have ever since regretted). I even have the recipe book which is edition 1.
The motor still does a powerful job and the beaters look just as they did when new. So -------------- well done Kenwood, just hope that this one goes on for another 37 years then we will both be well into our dotage!!
Thanks again for a brilliant product.

Food Processor
I have just used my Kenwood food processor to grate cheese, it dawned on me that this machine is the oldest and most used within my kitchen. Brought for making baby food for our daughter, who is 24 now you can understand my amazement! Yes I have replaced the bowl twice and the spindle also, but if you calculate an average 5 hours use per week over 24 years some 6000 hours allowing for the odd holiday. This machine deserves a medal. Thank you Kenwood
Kind regards

Kenwood Chef since 1979...
Dear Kenwood
I bought my Kenwood Chef about 1979 during a bakers strike when I refused to queue in our village to buy bread. I made my own bread for years and baby number one refused to eat anything apart from home made bread. It has served me well making the said bread, large quantites of soups, cakes. I also bought the mincer, grater and shredder, and liquidiser attachments. I retired in June and was bought as a leaving gift the Kenwood FP691 and I look forward to as many troublefree years with this newer model.
Kind regards

Kenwood Chef 300
I have just bought the Kenwood chef 300 series (750W) I used it for the first time today, just to play and get used to it - easy scones. I was so impressed comparing it too my small handmixer, that now I have to go out and get a load of cake ingredients and spend the afternoon baking.
My kids are so pleased!!!!
Many thanks for manufacturing such an excellent piece of cooking appliance.

Hand Mixer
I bought the Kenwood hand mixer yesterday and today I made a Victoria sponge cake. I couldn't believe it.
It was the lightest, fluffiest cake I've ever made and I bake every week. I have always dreamt of making a sponge like this.
Thank you Kenwood for making it come true!

Kenwood Chef mixer since 1971....
I just wanted to inform you on how good your appliances really are. In December 1971, my grand mother bought me a Kenwood Chef mixer. I am now a grand mother and have also two children, this mixer has been extensively used over the years and is STILL in constant use. Now how many customers can say that?? This year it will be celebrating it's 35th birthday. Oh how I would love a new one in stainless steel, but why when my old faithful still works and works well on a regular basis??
It travelled from the UK to South Africa in March 1972. Each time we have moved home, it has travelled in the car with me, duly wrapped, never being packed in a box just in case it broke, my old faithful machine. It has done me proud for so many birthday parties, weddings, christenings, and other functions, the amount of biscuits it has made, not to mention all the use it gets during the festive season.
I thought of this today as I purchased the frothy machine, hoping it will bring endless fun and enjoyment to the whole family, all five adults and three small children living together today.
Thank you all,
Kind regards,
Marge Delport

Kenwood Gourmet Food Processor
I used to have a Kenwood Gourmet food processor, bought many years ago. I can't recall when but I know it was prior to 1982 as I was still working at the time. Eventually the plastic covering the drive shaft split and I was no longer able to get the blades or cutting disks on or off without serious gymnastics, despite repeated glueing of it etc. I passed it on to my daughter, now 22 as she is fitter than I and does not have rheumatoid arthritis in her joints as have I. Although she is a student at Uni, she bakes and cooks in the old fashioned way as do I.
I was given a small processor, made by another manufacturer and thought it would do, as both my children are away now and there is just the two of us left. After struggling with it for a year, I gave it up as a bad job and yesterday bought myself the FP523 001 whilst in Costco in Leeds. My husband had told me to buy another processor if I saw one as he was fed up listening to my complaints about the small Moulinex Masterchef 20. I wasn't even able to grate a block of cheese with it. As my daughter was with me at the time, it being Mother's Day she'd come down from Edinburgh to be with me, she also drooled at the FP523, so I bought one for her too, and have put it aside for her birthday. The old Gourmet will be retired completely with honours.
I didn't have to think twice about the purchase as it is a Kenwood. On arriving home I unpacked it and my daughter washed the parts and within a few minutes a Victoria sponge was in the oven. That's a good test bake for any machine. It took seconds to mix and will last but 24hrs. Beautiful.
I'm impressed and delighted although it doesn't feel quite as sturdy as the old Gourmet model, but then as I'm in a wheelchair due to my condition, it means I can handle it whereas the old model was getting too hefty for me.
This afternoon I am making a large batch of leek and potato soup, my own recipe, so the blender will earn its keep today. I had been using a stick blender to make soup, but it kept overheating as I make a cauldron load so had to do it in batches.
Thank you for supplying Costco and for making such a machine. It will be well used I promise you.
Dawn Holmes.
P.S. My son will be given the small Moulinex. He doesn't do much cooking yet, as he's only just gone to Uni, but I've told him, future girlfriends may see him in a good light with a food processor in his kitchen and one never turns down brownie points does one?................ |

Satisfied Chef Australia...
Hi to all Kenwood Owners,
A little about myself my name is David and Im a fully qualified Chef, I live in Western Australia and I am a proud owner of a Kenwood Chef Electronic Mixer.
Previous to this machine I had an older model which lasted me about 14 years and in that time I never had any troubles with it and I only replaced it as my work load became allot more intense and I needed a faster machine so along came the Kenwood Electronic.
I recently inherited my grandmothers Kenwood Chef mixer an old white model with dark blue covers over the attachment connecting ports, besides the fact that a little of the enamel is starting to flake off where the bowl locks are the machine is in excelent working order and I estermate that it about 28 years old and is still working as well as the day it came out of its box. The Kenwood Chef mixer is absolutely amazing it doesn't matter what I mix with it, it handles it beautifully.
I use the mixer for at least 6 hours a day in my work mixing anything from pavlova's through to bread dough for morning rolls or pastries like choux or shortcrust, cakes and things like that are mixed in a jiffy and my machine has never let me down, I just put the ingredients in the mixing bowl and place the bowl in the machine and switch on knowing that they will be mixed
just right.
I tried many mixers before but allas they weren't up to the job that I needed them to do and someone sugested that I try the Kenwood so I bought one and to this day I never regreted spending the money on it this is one
fabulous machine and I would say to you don't waste your money on those others just buy the best because in my eyes the Kenwood is it.
From a verry satisfied customer

Kenwood Chef in Canada!
At long last able to get a Kenwood Chef in Canada! Before we left the UK 7 years ago I was on my second (1980), my sister in law now has that one. My first was had been my grandmothers (1950), then my mothers, then I used it for quite a few years. I have never found mixers that worked as well and on coming to Canada couldn’t buy one and had to settle for a Kitchenmaid. It couldn’t measure up.
I got my new DSM7 on Christmas Eve and am delighted to be able to use my old Kenwood Bread Recipe again (I kept a photo copy of the one printed on the handbook for my Kenwood Chef) and I will be able to use my Kenwood Mixer Book without having to reduce the quantities. I keep going with my English Recipes because I can’t visualise quantities in cups and its less messy to use add and weigh scales. I look forward to trying new recipes from your web site – when I can find all the ingredients.

Carrying on the tradition....
Dear Kenwood,
My father bought a Kenwood Chef KM300 for my mother in 1970. Sundays always rang to the sound of the Chef whirring away as my mother baked and Christmas would have ground to a halt without it. Although my mother has passed away, my sister still uses the Chef which is still going strong at the ripe old age of 35!
I finally bought one for myself this Christmas after struggling for years with a small mixer and look forward to carrying on the tradition.

34 year old hand mixer!
I possess a Kenwood Mini hand mixer with bowl and stand (model A345) which was a wedding gift in 1971. It has been used constantly (at least once a week) since then and even withstood two years professional use when I had a small catering business in 1994.
It did stop working during this time but my husband took it apart and it was full of flour! We carefully cleaned it out and it is still going. Is this a record or am I one of many with your fantastic products?
