Chocolate Bread

Can be made with these products:

BM260 and BM366 Program 1

Method

  1. Put the egg into the measuring cup or jug and add sufficient water to give liquid up to:
    300ml for 1kg loaf
    225ml for 750g loaf
    185ml for 500g loaf
  2. Add the cocolate when the bread maker makes an audible sound during 2nd kneading cycle: see menu timetables on page 44-48 (BM260) and page 49-53 (BM366).

Tip
tsp = 5ml teaspoon 
tbsp = 15ml tablespoon

Ingredients

For 1kg loaf
1 egg 
Water - see point 1  
140ml semi-skimmed milk 
4tsp  cocoa powder  
1 1/2tsp salt   
50g caster sugar 
25g butter 
600g unbleached white bread flour   
1 1/2tsp easy blend dried yeast 
100g plain continental style (70% cocoa) chocolate, coarsely chopped or use plain chocolate chips

For 750g loaf
1 egg 
Water - see point 1 
100ml semi-skimmed milk   
1tbsp cocoa powder 
1 1/2tsp salt   
40g caster sugar 
25g butter   
450g unbleached white bread flour   
1 1/2tsp easy blend dried yeast 
75g plain continental style (70% cocoa) chocolate, coarsely chopped or use plain chocolate chips

For 500g loaf
1 egg 
Water - see point 1 
80ml semi-skimmed milk 
2tsp cocoa powder 
1tsp salt 
25g caster sugar 
15g butter 
350g unbleached white bread flour 
1tsp easy blend dried yeast 
50g plain continental style (70% cocoa) chocolate, coarsely chopped or use plain chocolate chips
