With so many excellent cookery schools now operating in the UK, it was time that their hard work and dedication to driving Britain’s passion for cooking good, homemade food was celebrated and honoured.

The inaugural British Cookery School Awards, which took place in London on Tuesday 13th November, give schools a chance to shout about their most fantastic achievements and receive recognition for the important role they play in making Brits better cooks at home.

The judges – which included BBC Radio 2 food & drink presenter Nigel Barden and our very own Development Chef Martin Johns – looked for cookery schools which go above and beyond to create a first class cooking experience for its clientele.

The top of the crops will receive national, regional and online media attention, as well as being able to use the British Cookery School Award Winner 2012 logo on all its marketing collateral. Entrants were also in with a chance of scooping up to £1,500 worth of Kenwood kitchen products.

Best Large Cookery School : Ashburton Cookery School
