Popular FAQ's

  • Can I use the delay timer for all of the programs?

It is recommended that the delay timer is not used with either the dough, jam or gluten free settings. You should not use the delay timer if any perishable ingredients are used in the recipe, ie: milk, eggs, yoghurt etc. The rapid bake does not work with the delay timer.
  • How do you remove the kneader from the pan on a BM200?

Fill the pan to just above the kneader with hot soapy water immediately after removing the bread. This will soften any dough that has baked inside the kneader and ensures easy removal.
  • How should I measure out my ingredients?

It is very important that you use exact measurements in your bread maker. Always use liquids at room temperature (20°C/68°F) unless making bread using the basic cycle. Always use the measuring spoon provided when measuring out smaller quantities of dry or liquid ingredients.
  • I’ve plugged in my bread maker but nothing has happened, is it broken?

Make sure you have turned on the bread maker. All Kenwood bread makers come with an on/off switch situated under the right hand handle on the BM150 and round the back of the BM250 and BM256. Make sure you plug the appliance in before turning the on/off switch, and always turn it off before unplugging the appliance.
  • My bread has not come out as expected. What am I doing wrong?

Have you selected the correct program? Check that you are not selecting rapid bake. You should also double check that you are putting in the exact amounts of the ingredients in the correct order. If you are still experiencing problems, please see the troubleshooting guide.
  • My Bread Makers does not mix when I press start?

Some settings have a rest period before mixing. Check your timings table for this information. Also make sure that the bread pan has been properly inserted into the machine.
  • Why do I need to remove the bread pan from the machine before adding the ingredients?

You have to do this to prevent spillages into the oven chamber. Ingredients that splash onto the heating element can burn and cause smoke.
