Yes you can replace the filter, the lid (in most cases) and the control on the powerbase.
Before cleaning make sure you have unplugged your kettle and let it cool down. Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry. Do not use abrasives because they will scratch the metal and plastic surfaces. Even though your kettle comes with a filter, you still need to clean the inside (and the filter) regularly. Remove the filter by holding the tab and then lifting the filter out. Regular descaling of the flat element will improve the performance of your kettle. Supermarket proprietary descalers or vinegar can be used to descale your kettle.
Every few months in hard water areas or if obvious scaling has taken place.
Scaling of the element will shorten the life of the product.
It is strongly recommend WATER is the only liquid or substance to be boiled in a kettle.
It is an element you cannot see
A fine mesh filter is found in the front of the kettle behind the spout which stops limescale entering drinks providing fresher water and high quality taste.
A printed element is an electronic element which is printed directly onto the stainless steel base plate of the kettle instead of the standard horse shoe heating element most kettles have. The plate then has contact with the water and heats accordingly. The element is more efficient than a standard element.
Stealth is a plastic ring found in the bottom of the kettle which reduces the noise of the kettle when boiling.
Normally 5 years
The minimum and maximum water capacity a kettle can boil is represented on the water window or gauge of the kettle. To maintain your kettle in a safe environment, do not boil under or over the recommended units.
Please make sure you have boiled your kettle with the maximum amount of water three times before using. If it does not result in better tasting water please contact Kenwood customer experience department.
All Kenwood kettles come with a one year manufacturer's guarantee.
This is more than likely due to limescale build up. Limescale in some parts of the country can manifest itself as a brown deposit. Descaling your kettle should remove the brown deposit. to reduce limescale build up use filtered water.
A little steam emission is normal in many kettles. If this is excessive, please contact the Kenwood customer experience department.
All kettles regardless of manufacture will make a noise whilst boiling. Your kettle will get noisier as it reaches boiling point. Once your kettle has boiled the noise will abate. If you prefer a quieter kettle we would recommend a kettle which has a stealth element fitted. Kenwood produce a number of stealth element kettles which can be seen on the Kenwood website.
