Ice cream maker - A957A
How to use this attachment
The Ice Cream Maker makes smooth textured ice creams and sorbets every time. It consists of a freezing bowl and a paddle, so it will freeze and churn at the same time.

To make perfect ice cream and sorbets the mixture needs to be kept moving whilst it freezes, to prevent large ice-crystals forming. The rotating paddle within the Ice Cream Maker keeps the mixture moving, and as it moves over the frozen bowl the mixture is chilled and frozen, ensuring the texture remains velvety smooth.
Within 20-30 minutes the ice cream mixture will be frozen and ready to serve as a soft-scoop style ice cream, or for transferring to the freezer to become a little firmer.
The Ice Cream Maker allows you to make ice cream with completely natural ingredients, from the simplest milk and cream-based vanilla ice cream or fruit ice cream made with fresh fruit purées, to yoghurt ices and sugar syrup-based fruit sorbets.
Using the Ice Cream Maker
1. Chill the Freezing Bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours before use.
2. Prepare the ice cream or sorbet mix and chill it thoroughly before starting. The colder the ingredients and equipment, the better the results.
3. Assemble the Ice Cream Maker, complete with paddle, and switch on before adding the chilled mixture, otherwise it may freeze immediately onto the inside of the bowl. Add the mix through the chute.
4. Continue mixing until the ice cream is frozen - this takes 20-30 minutes. It will have a consistency similar to freshly whipped cream.
5. When ready, your ice cream can be eaten straight away as a soft style ice cream, but is best if you decant it into a container and chill it in the freezer for 20-30 minutes before serving.
Hints and tips
1. With Cooking Chef, the Freezing Bowl can be placed directly into your Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl. The plastic bowl is NOT compatible with the Cooking Chef.
2. If you have room, it is worth storing the Freezing Bowl in the freezer for immediate use. Chill the paddle and cover in the fridge before use.
3. Once the ice cream or sorbet is made, transfer it to a plastic container with a lid and store in the freezer until you want to serve it.
4. To serve ice cream which has been stored in the freezer, transfer it to the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving, to soften.
5. Never re-freeze ice cream that has partially defrosted.
To make sorbet
Fruits sorbets can be made very easily in the Ice Cream Maker, and the method is similar to tradition cream-based ices.
