  • Slow Speed Outlet

    Slow Speed Outlet

You will find this behind the removable cover at the front of the kitchen machine. Use this outlet to run our high quality pasta roller, shaper and cutters, food mincer, rotary slicer/grater, grinding mill and fruit press.

  • Total Mixing

    Total Mixing Action

Instead of following the routine circular motion used by most mixers, our total mixing action thoroughly combines every ingredient inside the bowl, including all the mix that would otherwise stick around the sides and the base. This gives you a consistent mixture and better results, whether you’re whisking up a single egg white or kneading kilos of dough.

A test of good performance is how well the ingredients are mixed in the bowl.  While most beaters rotate in a circular motion the Kenwood bowl tools move in a planetary motion.

Kenwood’s total mixing means that while the beater revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction making sure that all the mixture is picked up from around the bowl.
It is consistent whether you are whisking one egg white or 5 lbs of bread dough.

    Pulse and fold

    • Pulse speed – circa 14000rpm for high speed blending of ingredients in the blender.
    • The pulse function is continuous until the button is released.
    • Pulse can be used during heating however, if the temperature of the bowl is above 140°F, then it will be limited to around 3500rpm.
    • Fold function – 2½ revolutions at a very slow speed (22rpm) to carefully fold ingredients together when cold mixing. For example folding sugar into egg whites when preparing meringues.
    • The fold function is continuous if the button is held down, otherwise it will act for 1 cycle of 2½ revolutions.
    • Fold can be used during heating.
    • Neither fold or pulse functions are effected by the position of the control knob.
    • The speed LED light will flash during either fold or pulse.

  • Temperature dial

    Temperature Dial

The Kenwood Cooking Chef combines food preparation and induction cooking technology. The temperature can be set accurately between 70 to 285°F and the timer set for up to 3 hours. This type of temperature and timer control gives a real freedom in the kitchen and can make even complex dishes quicker and easier to cook.

  • Variable Speed Control

    Variable Speed Control

The Kenwood Cooking Chef has three dedicated stirring speeds for cooking. Speed 1 slowly and carefully mixes your ingredients to preserve the structure and texture of ingredients. Stir speed 2 turns the tool two and a half times and then pauses for 5 seconds and stir speed 3 turns the tool two and a half times and then pauses for 30 seconds. Ideal for stirring casseroles while cooking and also great for goulash, boeuf bourguignon and ragu sauces.

    Stirring and speed control

There are 3 new stir settings for continuous or intermittent stirring, depending on the dish. With the planetary mixing action, the KENWOOD Cooking Chef has a fully variable speed control with pulse and fold functions for maximum controllability.

The stir settings are suited to cooking when using the high temperature flexible beater or the stirring tool. They will ensure that food is gently mixed during cooking for even heat distribution.

Stir 1 – constant very slow speed mix around 22rpm
Stir 2 – intermittent 2½ revolution stir every 5 seconds
Stir 3 – intermittent 2½ revolution stir every 30 seconds

    Mixing speeds

The machine has a fully variable speed control with pulse and fold functions for maximum controllability. This means you get precise power at all times regardless of how much mixture is in the bowl.

    There are 8 mixing speeds Min, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Max.

Once the bowl has reached a temperature of  140°F or above, the speed is limited. After heating, when the temperature is falling, to select a higher speed the knob must be moved to a position below speed 2 to re-set.

High speed heat and whisk allow the more experienced cooks to perform a high speed/high temperature whisking operation as required by some recipes.

  • Control Panel

    LCD Screen display

  • Induction Cooking

    Induction Cooking

Unique to the Kenwood Cooking Chef, induction cooking brings a revolutionary dimension to the art of creative cooking. A built-in, 1150 Watt heat induction system enables you to continuously stir and cook ingredients to perfection. The specially designed bowl can tolerate temperatures from 70°F-285°F. Two sensors accurately measure and control the heat to within 2°F, so you can be certain you're cooking at exactly the right temperature for your recipe.

Induction cooking is an advanced cooking method that employs the principles of electromagnetic induction. When the Cooking Chef bowl is locked into position the circuit is completed by a special layer of stainless steel in the bowl base.  In turn this creates a large amount of thermal energy that passes through to the contents of the bowl, thus heating the food.

Induction cooking is extremely energy efficient because it only produces heat in the base of the bowl.  Other heating methods such as gas hobs waste almost 50% of the heat energy around the sides of the pan.  The Induction cooking area on your Cooking Chef only feels hot during and immediately after cooking because of the heat transferred back from the contents of the bowl.  This means that Induction cooking is very efficient, very safe and very clean.

    The temperature measurement

The heat function is only available whilst mixing.  During heating the temperature LED will pulse on and off.  The LED will remain on while the temperature is +/- 5°F of the required setting. When heating water to a temperature of 212°F, the accuracy is +/- 5°F.

Ultimate control is possible as the temperature ranges in 2°F between 70°F to 285°F in the 3Qt cooking capacity bowl. With this unique function, the Kenwood Cooking Chef makes light work of the tricky dishes that require attention and precision in the kitchen.
