Chocolate Molten Cake


200g butter

120g plain flour

250g chocolate couverture

40g cocoa powder

2 eggs

200g caster sugar



1.  Preheat oven at 200 deg C

2. Grease 6 or more ramekins with butter or cooking spray then cocoa powder. Set aside

3. Place chocolate couverture and butter into a bowl placed over simmering pot of water. Allow to melt gently. Set aside to cool

4. Sieve plain flour and cocoa powder into a bowl

5. Whisk eggs and sugar in mixing bowl till pale and fluffy

6. Fold in the melted chocolate gently till well combined

7. Add in the flour and cocoa powder and mix gently

8. Spoon into the prepared ramekins until 3/4 filled, gently tap to remove bubbles

9. Cover with cling film till ready to bake. You can chill up to 3hrs before baking it.

10. Arrange ramekins on a baking tray and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes

11. Leave to rest for 2 minutes, then invert each cake onto serving plate

12. Dust and serve with cocoa powder
