900g Potatoes – thinly sliced
1 Large onion – thinly sliced
200ml Double cream
2 Cloves garlic crushed
½ tsp Grated nutmeg
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Black pepper
1 Grease the ceramic dish of the slow cooker with the butter.
2 Layer the dish with potatoes and onions, finishing with a layer of potato.
3 Mix the remaining ingredient together and pour over the potatoes.
4 Turn slow cooker on high and cook with the lid on for 1hr.
5 Turn cooker on to the low setting and cook for 4-4 ½ hrs.
6 The top may be browned under the grill if so desired.
Serve as an accompaniment to roast or grilled meats.
